Super Smoothies :: Berry Breakfast Smoothie

Are you remembering to take your vitamins? I keep forgetting, so I’m on a mission to get on top of it and make sure I take them every day. On the plus side, we eat very healthy and try our best to get in lots of vitamin-packed nutrition. As you may have noticed, smoothies are one of my favorite ways of doing that! I love a good breakfast smoothie that is full of yummy ingredients, tastes delicious, and kick starts my day in the right direction.  The recipe that I’m sharing with you today combines oats, honey, berries, natural yogourt, and a splash of vanilla.  It tastes like oatmeal cereal and berries in the form of a perfectly delectable drink.  It’s a wonderful brekkie on-the-go!
“Eating breakfast is a great way to get your metabolism working well for the day. When your body receives food in the morning, it tells your brain that you’re going to need to start working to digest it. This wakes up the system and warms up the metabolism so it’s ready to work throughout the day. When you don’t eat breakfast in the morning, your body thinks that it needs to conserve the energy it has because it isn’t getting any more through nutrition. This actually slows your metabolism down, which results in a decrease in the amount of calories you burn all day long.” – fitday.com
