Double Chocolate Crunch Granola by Enjoy Life
By Emily Smith

This morning we woke up and felt like eating cereal. By we, I mean Mr. Smith and myself – Little A. is pretty happy with just about anything substantial for breakfast. Somedays we have smoothies, other days it’s pancakes, but today was cereal. We don’t typically keep cereal in the house, unless I’ve made homemade granola, however today we were in luck because I had on hand a bag of Double Chocolate Crunch Granola by Enjoy Life®. I poured three bowls, topped the granola with frozen blueberries, purple grapes, and natural almond milk (the frozen fruit thaws very quickly and is a great way to get some additional anti oxidants). We each took a spoonful, and for the next little while there was nothing but crunching and contentment.
Let’s talk a little bit about this granola. It’s gluten-free, casein-free, vegan, kosher pareve, has no artificial ingredients, and no trans fat. In 1/2 cup, you get 45% of your daily recommended iron intake and a good dose of fiber from the brown rice flakes and rice bran. That’s pretty good stuff overall!
After we broke the silence, Little A. clapped his hands – yep, he does that when he likes something. It’s really cute. He also only gets chocolate on the rarest of occasions, so I’m sure he was pretty excited about that too. What I was pleased with is that I was satisfied with 1/2 cup. It filled me up and kept me going until lunch. In the future, I think I would buy the Very Berry Crunch as a breakfast cereal, and keep Double Chocolate Crunch for an afternoon treat
