Sunday Living 37.52

This Sunday was a bit like playing house in our new home. I guess it’s not really playing, when you are doing – but it seemed like an all day affair. I said – we must be playing at something, right? Cooking, cleaning, laundry, unpacking, baking, baths, playing, mealtime, sorting, stories, bedtime…. that sort of thing.

After a week of getting over a stubborn cold, we’re feeling better and hopefully on the other side of it. Abigail is getting three, maybe four teeth in all at once, which has made for loooong nights. Poor little darling, if only they would be done already. Summer feels like it’s really on its way out, which makes me sad – however, I am gearing up for all the things that I do love about fall. What a gorgeous season it is, from the trees, cool breeze, clear skies, fresh produce, warm drinks, cozy sweaters and so on. What do you like about autumn?

As the day turns to evening and a new week is upon us, I look forward to hearing more about Aiden’s school days and taking Abby to the new park around the corner. I ponder a carrot ginger soup that I’d like to make and a birthday cake that is to be baked tomorrow for Little A’s God Mother and my childhood friend. I think the busyness and stress of the move is making its way out and a peace is settling in (oh, and we have internet now, what a blessing!).  I want to consciously take things at an easier pace the next couple of weeks before our October trip to New Brunswick for my sister’s wedding, Thanksgiving, Aiden’s birthday, Halloween…etc.  Yes, now is the time to be slow and soak up the last days of summer and the beginning beauty of fall.

  1. We are enjoying those final days of summer but autumn has so much to offer and we are already baking cakes and puddings with delicious autumn fruits. Your muffins look so appetising there still in the baking tray!
