Mixing Prints, Lace Earrings + Blush Accents

Getting dressed up this summer seems like a rare occurrence. Most days, you will find me in a maxi dress thanks to the hot summer days. But, there’s nothing like pulling an outfit together and feeling like your stylish self, is there?

For this look, I paired two complementing prints. If you notice, the blouse and the skirt actually both have a diamond shape. Flowing from the top to the bottom, the diamond gets smaller, keeping the visual pleasing and not overwhelming. The shades of blue also flow together. To accessorize, I wore a t-strap heel, lace earrings, and a blush purse – all soft neutrals that work well with the blues and creams.

Wearing a light-weight blouse with a skirt is perfect August attire, when it starts to transition into cooler evening weather but you still want to look summery. Your arms are covered if there is a breeze, but you won’t overheat either.

Due to the heat wave we have been experiencing, I’ve been keeping my makeup super easy. I start with Murad’s Oil Control Mattifier, then apply BB Cream and highlight with Maybelline Lumitouch Concealer.  To add pops of colour, I use Benefit’s They’re Real! Push-Up Liner in Beyond Blue and Revlon’s Powder Blush: Love That Pink.

I feel like I could fly off to the Hamptons for the weekend wearing this outfit! What do you think? Do you have a favourite summer piece that you can’t get enough of?
