Super Smoothies :: Healthy Chocolate Smoothie

Oh it’s a beautiful Saturday morning! My husband let me sleep in and I feel so refreshed and ready to take off on a family adventure. What will it be? I’m not sure yet, but it will probably involve a couple of dairy-free lattes and nature. Maybe a long walk, maybe a trip to the lake…we’ve got what we need and we’re set to see where the road takes us. Little A. is up for anything and I love that about him! Before we set sail, breakfast is key and this super smoothie makes sure that we won’t be hitting any fast food stops during our day. Fully satisfying and delicious; the protein, healthy fats and vitamins in one tall glass keeps you good to go for hours.  Cheers to the weekend lovelies,  I’ll drink to that 😉

  1. Oh boy…this sounds good…all except the spinach. I do love spinach, but I don’t think I’d like it in a smoothie. However…the other ingredients rock my world! I’ve actually made avocado ice cream before and was amazed at how yummy it was! So I think the avocado in this smoothie would give it a nice, rich, creamy texture. (Visiting from SITS!)

  2. Tristine, I’m not a huge spinach fan either, but drink green smoothies religiously, and have for nearly 2 years now (Thanks GSG!). I promise that unless you seriously pack it in, you can’t taste it. It’s so mild that the other fruits overpower it, and it is SOOO STINKIN GOOD FOR YOU, it’s totally worth trying.

  3. Hi Tristine, thanks for coming by today! I can see your point about the spinach, I was seriously apprehensive the first few times I tried it in smoothies, but with all the delicious tastes from the berries, chocolate, avocado, banana – it disappears : except it’s nutrients don’t! 🙂 I always use double-washed baby spinach, it’s much milder in taste. Have a great long weekend!

  4. Never thought i would hear these 3 words used together. This definitely sounds like a filling, delicious treat that’s much less sinful than your usual chocolate sundae!
