Jess Lafrance is the creator of the short film Flowers in February, an actor, a Theatre graduate and has also worked for a prominent production company. Jes Kennedy is an actor (and writes a bit). She also has a Theatre degree and has been on Republic of Doyle, Blue Mountain State, and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World to name off some of her resume.
“Jill & Jenny” is about two women, Jill (Jessica Kennedy) and Jenny (Jessica Lafrance) who meet and become unlikely roommates. The 7 episodes (5 minutes each) will explore Jenny’s search for love and Jill’s search for gainful employment. It’s going to be a comedic series with plenty of laughs!
The shooting has already begun in Toronto, with an awesome professional crew! Alas, there is just one thing that Jill and Jenny are missing – food for their team, amongst other things. No worries, because I know we can help the pair raise the money that is needed to bring their creative and brilliant series to completion.
For the price of a fancy coffee (or 10!) you can contribute to the arts in Canada! All money raised will go to:
- Food for Cast and Crew
- Sound kit
- Camera and lighting equipment
- And if we make more, then it sure would be great to pay our crew however minimally.
To show their appreciation for your donations they have come up with some extra special and personal perks – you’ll see a list of them on their Indiegogo Fundraising Campaign Page, along with their live introduction video!
To donate, head on over to Indiegogo (a secure fundraising site) and for updates on the web series, you can follow “Jill & Jenny” via facebook and twitter! Yay! I love hearing about up and coming projects that are homegrown and involve awesome talent [ no, I’m not bias – at all 😉 ].
Happy Thursday y’all!
