I will be taking advantage of storytime for many, many years to come!
Storytime is one of my favourite activities of the day. After a playful bath, getting into a fresh pair of pyjamas and drinking a cup of water – Little A. is all set for storybooks and cuddles. Aiden picks up a bunch of books and off to the couch we go.
He is rather fond of a handful of the same stories, and once in a while a new special book gets added into his reading rotation.
Getting to spend that time holding my baby and reading to him is priceless and I cherish it each time. Aiden is a busy toddler, so having quiet, cuddle time at the end of the day, getting to smoosh him under his blankets, smelling his just-washed hair and listening to him recite by memory parts of his beloved baby books – is truly the best.
My husband snapped some pictures of us while we were reading. Aiden was so immersed in the story and the images, he hardly noticed the camera! Right now, he is taken with Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, Goodnight Gorilla, Frog and Toad are Friends, Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?, and The World of Christopher Robin.
What are some of your child’s and/or your childhood favourite reads?
