Sweet Abigail, you’ve turned our world upside down these past 12 weeks, in the best of possible ways! You are the perfect addition to our family. With Mr. Smith back at work full-time, during the day it’s just me, you, and your big brother. We’re a crazy trio, in the mix of blanket forts, crafts, reading books, nap time, diapers, timed potty breaks, messy lunches, outfit changes, crying fits, loud giggles…oh we’re in the full swing of it and it’s a wild, wild adventure that I feel so blessed to be on.
You are precious. You’re delicate and lovely. You cuddle up just like a baby bunny…it’s the most amazing feeling ever. You’re so warm and tender; girl you’re so easy to love.
This month your height is 24 inches and your weight is approximately 13 lbs.
Your sleeping patterns are several 1-2 hour naps during the day and 5-7 hour stretches in the night. When you sleep 7 hours straight, we are always amazed and SO thankful for the extra rest.
Your feeding schedule is still every 3 hours or less – you’ve had quite the appetite in the last two weeks. At night, you feed only if you wake up.
Some sounds and motions you make are; roaring/baby talking/light crying to let us know you aren’t pleased with something (take me out of my bouncer seat! Burp, please!) – big cooing and Mmmmm sighs after a long nursing session…hehehe, you roll over and are the most content baby ever.
Bath time, is playtime and splash time – you kick and splash the water everywhere. Water baby!
You love daddy’s arms and snuggle right into them when he holds you – if it were up to you, you would be held all….day….long 🙂
You follow voices and people moving around you and show a big curiosity for your brother. His loud noises intrigue you, startle you, and make you laugh.
You’ve discovered your hands like never before. A few weeks ago, they were there – you would bring them to your mouth, but lately you want them in your mouth all the time! You’re just learning to hold your teether and sometimes you give your hands a break.
You fit into your three month clothing now and have so many fun outfits to wear, thanks to all of your Mama’s fashionable family and friends. We’re all smitten with you little darling!
Are you (or did you) take monthly photos of your baby during the first year? With Aiden, we had professional photos taken at 3 and 6 months, but the rest were just me snapping pics daily to send to Mr. Smith who was on deployment that first year (and of course to capture all the cuteness!). Anyone else posting baby pictures on their blogs? Leave a link in the comments, I’d love to see ’em.
Happy Wednesday friends xo
