I’ve never really thought of the clog as sexy – but every time I put these on, my husband mentions how sexy they are on me. Is it the red or cutout leather? Well, while I remain puzzled over it – I can tell you what I think of these beautiful Milan Clog Sandals by Sandgrens Swedish Clogs; I think they are playful, cute and comfortable! They are the kind of shoe that I can walk in, chase in, and wear to stroll down a beachside boulevard.
Before, I talk about how to style them, let’s discuss craftsmanship, shall we? These Swedish Clogs are so well made, it puts some of my other designer shoes to shame. When I slipped them on, they fit like…a….glove! Perfectly. And not just that, they are comfortable and the sturdy leather holds your foot in place just the way you would want it to. The wooden base is a rock (in a good way) and seems like it would last a lifetime.
Sandgrens Milan clog sandals are charming and elegant wood shoes and by far our customers’ favorite! Just pair these mules up with colorful stockings or your favorite jeans and you’ve got a cute outfit for any occasion. The Milan clog feature a low-heel Swedish Alder wood base and gorgeous vegetable leather, which is fastened with staples for a clean but classical look.
Historically, few countries have cherished clogs as much as Sweden, which is where Sandgrens Clogs was originally founded as a leather tannery in the mid 1800s. Sandgrens is considered among the oldest clog – if not the oldest – brands in the world, and was once also the largest. During the 19th and early 20th century, the time of the great Swedish emigration to America, more than one million Swedes left their home country to seek better fortunes. They brought with them not only their traditions, but also their unwavering love for clogs.
Because I’ve got a twelve week old baby on my hip and often seen chasing around a busy three year old; comfort and wearability are two standards that I require for the clothing in my wardrobe at this moment. It may not be glamorous, but it can be cute and stylish. The Milan Clog Sandal has got that going on and that’s what I like about it. To style them, I threw on my torn boyfriend jeans, rolled them up and paired it with a high-low tee. Basic, casual, chic.
Of course, they have the goods to be played up too. I would wear them with a floral maxi dress, or neutral pixie pants and a cream lace top. There are lots of ways to style classics like these. Just look at how Louis Vuitton accessorized his striped cruise collection with classic clogs, it’s spot on!
The beauty of the Milan clog is that they can crossover into fall. Tracy Reese and Ralph Lauren both included clogs in their Fall 2014 runways and have totally inspired me to consider coloured stockings + clogs. I’ll review that thinking come this fall and let you know if I’m brave enough for that look.
The Milan is available in black, black roses, light lime, mini flowers, nature, navy, red, royal blue and yellow. It’s priced at approximately $139 CDN. Sandgrens ships to nearly all countries worldwide. Shipping time is estimated to be about 6-10 business days. It may vary depending on which country you are ordering from.
So fashion lovers, tell me what you think of these clogs?
