Today, we’re having a family picnic and spending the day outside. Being with my Littles is in of itself a precious gift. The gift of motherhood.

A gift that is never ending, always changing, and forever blessing.

I look at my Little A. now, at three and half years old, and wonder – how did we get here Little Man? Let me hold you and rock you in my arms again. But, now I tell wild stories about elephants in caves and we play hide and go seek – we’ve crossed over from the baby years and into something new. Something he is excited about and I’m settling into. Oh, and when I get comfortable here, he will grow some more. That is parenthood – growing with your children, not just watching them grow.

And our sweet Abigail, nearing 5 months old – showing more and more personality and character with each passing day. What a gift to our family she is. I hold these two kiddos close and think – Yes, this is being a Mother; being entrusted with these gems, these beautiful souls. I am blessed and even on my toughest days as a parent, I still know that and am thankful.

Happy Mother’s Day! I hope all the Mommas out there are being loved on by their families!

We are truly blessed to have our children, even through the struggling teenage years that we are facing again, with child #4. I don’t know whether to be thankful I survived the first 3 (2 of which are girls).. or just commit myself now as I have another girl who just turned 8..

No matter the anguish & the sorrows… they bring out the best of us.. because they are the best of us.

    1. Oh Darlene, well said my friend. They DO bring out the best of us – and your wording touches me…they truly are the best of us. Thank you for your comment!
