Sunday Living 34.52

Today has been an ideal Sunday. Sleeping in late, lounging in our pjs, a big fruit breakfast, and then leisurely getting ready for the pool. I was worried that our pool days were over, but I’m so glad that we get these next few hot sunshine-filled days to enjoy it. The water was beautiful and we soaked up the sun. As you may or may not know, we are moving from our condo to a home – with a backyard! Obviously, I’m thrilled about it. We’re in the mix of sorting and packing right now. At times like this, there is so much excitement at looking forward, but it’s also difficult not to be nostalgic. Both of our babies came home from the hospital here. There were first steps, and Christmases shared. David, my husband, came home from his final Naval deployment here. Lots of beautiful memories were made in our home. I am looking forward to making many, many new memories in our new house – but this one certainly deserves a proper farewell.

Have you been through a move, where you feel the sentiment of leaving your current home?

While we have been packing and preparing, this past week, we’ve made lots of ”nicecream” – made with frozen bananas instead of dairy….eaten a ton of fresh blueberries (what a season!!) and tried a new soup recipe that I’m dying to share. It’s been busy, but we’ve slowed time down today and cherished being together, our neighbourhood, our walking route, our swimming pool…and the wonderful things that have made this house a home for the past four years.

Hope you’ve had a lovely day friends.

  1. You know I always love your Sunday living posts. So sweet. Congrats on the move! I know what you mean – it’s always bittersweet to open a new chapter. We’ve brought all three of our babies home here. I imagine it will be emotional when we (finally) leave. Much love!
