If you’re anything like me, you have captured nearly every single day of your baby’s life on camera. Sorry kiddos, Mama is snap-happy. I love capturing firsts, fun times, and special occasions to be able to look at them over and over again. Memories are such a precious gift and photographs are a wonderful way of preserving them.
So you’ve got ALL of these baby pictures, now what? Well first, get them off your camera, your phone, and your memory card. They are not safe there; please save them on an external hard drive, as well as an online drive (like dropbox). You should have two digital copies! These are irreplaceable after all. Now that you have your digital copies, it’s time to get hard copies of those beautiful memories.
Thanks to the genius creation of photo books, you no longer need to print hundreds of single photos and slide them into photo albums. Instead, you can easily upload your photographs and sort them into photo book templates. With very little effort, you can create a beautiful baby photo book. Of course, you can also jazz things up by decorating with stickers, adding text, and pretty backgrounds. You can get as creative as you want to!
For Abigail’s first birthday, which was at the end of last year, we created her first baby photo book. A year in pictures! Did I cry the whole time I made the book? Kind of, sort of, yes – yes I did.
A whole year! A whole year filled to the brim with milestones, experiences, incredible moments, and unforgettable memories. I used photoinpress.ca to create a lovely photo book displaying all of these memories. I used their free software to design, sort, and fill in the pages with pictures from every month. The hardest part was narrowing them down, so I really didn’t do too much of that and just used page layouts that included lots of picture frames!!
From pregnancy to her first birthday, I flip through the pages in awe of this darling girl. How she had grown in just one year! How she has marvelled us all!
As I mentioned, making a photo book with Photo In Press is a cinch! There are 4 easy steps:
- Download and install BookDesigner, our free photobook creation software.
- Arrange pictures, edit text and create stunning layouts within a few clicks with our wide range of pre-defined layouts.
- Click on the Order button after having reviewed your project, place the order and proceed with their secured payment page.
- Photo In Press manufactures your photobook using the highest quality standards and ships it by mail.
Easy-peasy! After I placed my order, I received my classic photo book in the mail within a few days ($34.99). It was wrapped securely and arrived in mint condition. I chose a navy blue cover and it is a nice rich colour. The pages are high-quality thick archival paper and are easy to flip through. I am really happy with how it turned out and I know that it is a special album to have for my husband and I, but also for Abigail to look through when she is older.
I truly think that photo books are a touching gift for anyone. They can be of you and your loved one for Valentine’s Day, or a tribute to Mom for Mother’s Day. Of course, a wedding photo book is a must too! A few other fun ideas are a recipe book of your family’s secret recipes with pictures of the chefs, or a curated collection of your kids finest art work (scan, upload and voila!).
