When I was a kid, my all-time favourite cracker was Breton Original Crackers. They were so delicious and I loved topping them with different condiments. When I discovered my gluten intolerance at around the age of 15, sadly I could no longer enjoy them the way I once had.
But who says all good things must come to an end? Thankfully, my favourite crackers got a gluten-free makeover, certified by the Canadian Celiac Association, and I’m thrilled to say that they taste fantastic. The first gluten-free option is Breton Bean Crackers; available in the delicious White Bean with Salt & Pepper and scrumptious Black Bean with Onion & Garlic. The second, which is perfect for snacking, is Breton Popped! Beans Cracker Chips; available in the tasty Sweet Chili Cheddar and snackalicious Sea Salt & Pepper

Nacho Breton White Bean with Salt & Pepper Crackers: Top crackers with 1 tsp of salsa and 1 tsp of grated cheese. Place in the oven on broil for 5 minutes. Remove and transfer on plate to serve.
When I cracked open the boxes to taste test, my first thought was – yes, yes, yes!! They DID it. They kept the perfect tender-crisp texture and wholesome taste that I loved about the original Breton Crackers and created these delectable healthy snacks made with beans (top of the ingredient list!) and happily without preservatives or artificial flavours/colours.

Mediterranean Breton Black Bean with Onion & Garlic Crackers: Spread crackers with homemade tofu spread, top with 2 halved olives, and 1 sliced radish.
Finding healthy, gluten-free choices is so important to me personally and to my family. I strive to either create recipes from scratch or purchase food products that are made with whole, nutritious gluten-free ingredients. It really pleases me that beans are the #1 ingredient in the new Breton Bean crackers and Breton Popped! Bean cracker chips. Not to mention that the crackers pack 3g fibre and 2g protein per serving and the Breton Popped! Bean Cracker Chips, made with chickpea and red bean, pack 2g fibre and 2g protein per serving. Now that is a snack I feel good about serving to my family.

Siracha Eggs & Bacon Breton White Bean with Salt & Pepper Crackers: Cook bacon and eggs, as desired. Top one cracker with eggs, bacon, and a drizzle of siracha sauce. Place another cracker on top, to create a snackwhich.
There are so many ways to enjoy the new gluten-free crackers and cracker chips from Breton, but today I wanted to show you my favourite way. It’s simple! Load those crackers up with toppings and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! As you can see, we did just that four different ways.
My question for you is, how do you eat your Breton Bean crackers? If you don’t know, you better find out, because you don’t know what you’re missing!

Strawberry Cheese Surprise Breton Black Bean with Onion & Garlic Crackers: You might be cringing at the sound of all of these different flavours, but let me shock you even further – the surprise is molasses! My husband thought I was crazy, but these are amazing. Place 2 halves of strawberries, 1 piece of cheese, and a drizzle of dark molasses over the cracker. Take a bite and prepare to be amazed! Mmmmm…..
Out of all four new products, I’m leaning towards the Breton White Bean with Salt & Pepper Crackers as my #1. They have a light, crisp, flavourful bite that is tasty on it’s own, but is ideal for almost ANY topping. That said, I showed you how to layer both cracker styles, because I think they are both delicious.

These were phenomenal! I happily taste-tested them all 🙂
I’ve tried these, too, and really enjoyed them. It’s so nice that gluten-free crackers have come so far! I love crackers with goat cheese, strawberry, and balsamic, with a little black pepper.
I’ve never seen them here, maybe soon! The only we have are the regular or herb gluten free that are good and not as greasy as the regular ones. I hope to see them soon!
I love crackers with some salsa and goat cheese :)! lovely to see this recipe
