For as far back as I can remember, I have enjoyed flipping through recipe books and being inspired by the pages before me. The recipe names, ingredients, and of course, the pictures – all pulled me deeper into a the world of cooking and baking.
I just love to open up a cookbook and be filled with excitement at trying something new in the kitchen. And that’s how I felt as I read through Nourish, written by Nettie Cronish & Cara Rosenbloom. There are loads of delicious recipes that I just want to dive into and make – like the Thai Peanut Noodle Salad and One Bowl Sushi!
Along with savoury meals, Nourish offers healthy recipes for scrumptious treats that will satisfy your sweet tooth, without very much (if any) added sugar. I made their On-The-Go Granola Bars and they were a big hit! Although I couldn’t get large oat flakes at the store (they were out!) – I substituted with some extra quick oats and they still turned out wonderfully. I am so fond of this recipe, because it can be made so many different ways with different add-ins, which is great for adapting it to your family’s tastes.
These are great for after-school snacks or breakfasts on-the-go!
I appreciate how Nourish uses seeds, nuts, and beans throughout the recipes to help us incorporate more nutritious foods into our diets. It truly is a guide book full of healthy recipes that are fun to make and delicious to eat. They have some surprising dishes, where they use ingredients in ways I’ve never thought to before. Like Watermelon Salad with Chickpeas, Feta & Mint – the addition of chickpeas is not something I would have used myself, but I’m intrigued to try this new combination!
Nourish is a cookbook and guide to eating well. It’s about embracing food and a healthy lifestyle. As you flip through the pages, reading short intros to each recipes, and helpful tips – you will find yourself inspired and enthusiastic to take some leaps in the kitchen and shake things up, in the name of good, wholesome food!
I’m excited to team up with a wonderful group of food bloggers in a fun Cookbook Blog Hop. We have all been pouring over the Nourish cookbook and we are all sharing our thoughts and a recipe that we’ve tried out. It’s a really neat opportunity to read many foodies’ reviews on this new cookbook. Here is a list of the food bloggers who have reviewed Nourish:
