Watermelon and Strawberry Smoothie

What a fine Sunday it is here in the capital city. A beautiful day to be outside and enjoying this morning’s lovely weather.  Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads out there and a special wish to my Little One’s papa & my loving husband.

We wish you were home to celebrate your very first Father’s Day – in the meantime, we send you our love and kisses – you’re the best dad to our angel.  Hope you are having a good day out to sea my darling, we’ll celebrate with a pancake breakfast and cuddles when you come home!

I woke up craving a fruit filled smoothie. The sun was flooding the apartment and reminded me of being on vacation in the tropics – where fruit becomes my main meal and I can’t get enough!  Watermelons are filling the crates and barrels plunked at the corners of the produce section in nearly ever grocery store in town – I picked out the nicest looking one, not too big, not too small, perfectly shaped and full of promise. I cut into it, excited to give my Little One his very first taste & mine for the season, happily finding a near hot pink flesh full of juice and flavour. Yum!  My Lion wasn’t quite sure of the taste, but his mommy gladly dug in and then made a fresh smoothie adding organic strawberries for pure breakfast decadence.

Enjoy the day & all that it has to offer!

Watermelon & Strawberry Smoothie

2 cups of diced watermelon
10 sliced strawberries
2-3 crushed ice cubes
1/2 cup of almond milk

(add in your favorite protein powder to make this a complete breakfast drink)

Blend for a few seconds, to keep a thicker smoothie consistency or longer for a juice.

  1. This must be delicious! Never thought of mixing strawberries and watermelon. Maybe because I was living in Spain and it was difficult to find both in the same season… Now I live in Bulgaria and there’s plenty of both!!! 🙂
Will do it soon, thank you, your blog is beautiful.

  2. Oh it is so yummy! I’m glad to read that you will try it. Sometimes I also add half a banana or yogourt too. Thank you for your comments & compliment.

  4. Your watermelon and strawberry smoothie looks delicious. We tried a drink with watermelon for a get-together. I loved it but I think I was the only one…perhaps a smoothie would have been the way to go.

  5. Hi Sarah, thank you for commenting! I’m a fan of your blog! I love watermelon so much – it tastes like summer to me….and I’m big on smoothies too. I hope you enjoy the recipe! I just made one the other day using 1/2 cup of raspberries instead of strawberries and it was delicious too! xo

  6. I am in love with your blog. Makes me want to stop procrastinating and do one since it is an OVERDUE assignment. Guess I am just afraid of it not being great. All the best to you.
