Whether you’ve been journaling forever, have just picked it up, or are thinking about starting – the point of this post is to help you pick a proper journal. One might say that a pad is good enough for your thoughts – I say, pish posh. Your journal may be filled with venting, gratitude, ideas, documentation or a multitude of other things; which are in fact deserving of a nice space. A space that you can return to, reflect upon, and easily find that brilliant thought that came to you at 2 am. Hopefully, these options will point you in the right direction.
I received this Keel’s Simple Diary for Christmas from Mr. Smith and I love it! I have a few journals floating around – one for whatever, one for gratitude, one for inspiration/ideas, and now this one. It’s the quickies of diary entries. Just fill in the blanks, choose from multiple choice and write the first thing that comes to mind! It’s fun. I fill it in when I take a bubble bath – the two together, just feel right.
As for serious journaling, one might prefer a classic book with lined pages. Leather bound and straight to the point – this one should do the trick.
If you are in the mood for a journal you can fill with drawings, inspiration, clippings and collages – than may I suggest a Sketchbook Moleskine? I have this one and I think it’s superb!
And for the lady with all the secrets…or a rather nosy sibling, there’s always Tiffany’s. How can you ever go wrong with Tiffany’s? The Heart Lock Diary in Tiffany Blue Leather or this other Breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired journal.
So which one’s for you? The Modern Gal, The Timeless, The Artist, or The Diva? Stay tuned for more on writing, in this new blog series – Journaling 101.
